1979 CJ-7 Renegade Resto Project

Selling my father’s 1979 Jeep CJ-7 Renegade restoration project after he unexpectedly passed away in October 2025. He spent many hours thoughtfully restoring this Jeep, and we’d love to see it completed by someone who knows these CJs.

Clean title in hand
Original 258 inline-6 engine
Driven to its current location in the summer of 2024 before restoration began
Rolling chassis with drivetrain intact
Original firewall with VIN plate retained during the body reconstruction

When my father purchased the Jeep, much of the body had been covered with aftermarket aluminum diamond plate concealing rust. Rather than patching over the problem, he removed the damaged sheet metal and rebuilt the tub using new replacement body panels while retaining the original firewall and body contours to preserve the factory body lines.

Hard half top with bulkhead and doors
Soft top with matching doors
Seats
Original 1979 owner’s manual, maintenance booklet, and factory documentation
Some receipts for new parts
All parts removed during disassembly

The tub and loose parts have been stored indoors, while the frame and drivetrain have remained covered.

To the best of our knowledge, all parts removed during disassembly are included. This is being sold as a complete restoration project only. We are not interested in parting it out.
