Description

4/28/24 Thought it was sold on Ebay, but buyer backed out.

1959 Willys Jeep Station Wagon, note: no title. BILL OF SALE ONLY.

But, again, it is BILL OF SALE ONLY, No TITLE.

The legend, verbal only, was that this had been bought at a government surplus auction and this wagon had belonged to the US Forest Service in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

The fact is it does have a brass government plate on the dash.

Original 6-226 Continental Six cylinder engine, might run, original 3 speed transmission. Original part time 4WD. Rear step bumper, manual carb choke (which were US government specs). No chrome on this edition, again, government specs.

Lots of rust to go around. See photos. Let me state again, lots of surface rust, rust outs, rust through. Where some trim is removed, the original Forest Service aqua green color is visible.

It needs everything. But everything is available for it from current vendors. Replacement left and right body panels
included. A floor patch panel included.

Not Running. I have yard driven it some over the years, but not recently.

Great to do a restoration on a noteworthy original piece of history. Long term garaged, but in the yard now.

Has good tread on tires.

For sale, as is, where is, no warranty and no transport provided.

NOTE: COMES WITH TWO REPLACEMENT REAR QUARTER PANELS, ONE LEFT, ONE RIGHT, WORTH $375 each. One shown in photo. Not perfect, but way better than ones on it.

Includes an original Shop Manual, worth $39, a reprint parts guide worth $69. This is real value to the buyer. A vendor parts manual and restoration guide worth $25 comes with it, too. All included to the buyer.

Recent value info guide says condition 6 worth $1550, condition 5 worth $4650. With parts and items included, well worth the price.

Sold for cash only at pick up within 7 days of agreement.

No assistance available with loading, but yard is flat. Sold where is, as is, in Charleston County, South Carolina.

I am concerned about these transport companies hired by past buyers.

I had to drive one vehicle into the covered trailer for the transport guy and squeeze out of the trailer. Bad for the back.

On the other, my wife and I had to help the driver push the vehicle out the drive way up the street, to the trailer. It was in the paper work as not running. He just came unprepared.

This one has trouble rolling, will roll on tires OK when pulled or pushed by vehicle, but not by hand. Will need to be winched. Brakes are not releasing fully. Will roll, but can’t be hand pushed.

Arrange to come and see if sincerely interested. Also, listed elsewhere and might sell from there first.

I will remove this when it is sold.
