And it's not only about increasing the tick rate as the micro-tick updates will also reduce input lag and latency by ensuring that the server is responding to your actions without delays or glitches.
Obviously, this is only the start of the technical improvements Valve is making to the game. Valve is currently implementing dynamic smoke and particle systems to improve the way smoke interacts with the environment, and it's updating all maps with high-resolution lighting, textures, and models. All CS: GO weapons and cosmetics will also get a makeover using Source 2 tools and features.
Maps
