5 People You Should Be Getting To Know In The Twilight Princess Industry
Twilight Princess Game Review
Twilight Princess is the darkest, most serious and serious Nintendo 3D Zelda game. It pushes graphical presentation on the Wii to its limits. It's darker and more threatening than The Wind Waker. There aren't any bug-eyed pigs nor effeminate Pirates.
Link is attracted to a parallel dimension known as Twilight Realm where he takes on the form of both Hylian wolf and Hylian wolf and a Hylian while being guided by Midna.
Gameplay
Twilight Princess is the thirteenth installment in The Legend of Zelda series. It was released in 2006 for the Nintendo GameCube system and Wii. The game was praised by critics, giving it perfect scores in several publications such as 1UP CVG EGM and GamesRadar. Many consider it to be the best game in the franchise and also the most well-known Zelda title on the PAL market.
Twilight princess features naturalistic and stylized graphics style, like that of Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask but with a more sophisticated graphic engine. It's the first game in the series that features a completely directional control scheme instead of a fixed viewpoint like the previous games. This modification was made in order to work with the Wii console's pointing-based interface. The GameCube version of the game has a section in the back that has mirror-image maps to those who prefer the traditional fixed view.
Link transforms into a wolf when he enters the Twilight Realm. He also meets Midna, a mysterious creature. She reveals to Link that the kingdom of Hyrule is now under the control of a group shadow beasts led the evil sorcerer Zant. She also explains that she is the real ruler of Twili but was supplanted by Zant and cursed to her current form.
A short cutscene shows the soldiers being slain by shadow beasts after Link and Midna arrive at Hyrule Castle. Then, Link and Midna escape from the castle through a tunnel, and enter the Twilight Realm.
In the Twilight Realm, Link can utilize his wolf-like form to move around more freely in the world. Additionally, he can use his senses to navigate the world. For instance, he could detect the spirits of deceased soldiers and other animals that are in the distance. Link can also pick grass from certain patches and then whistle with it to call an animal, like a Hawk or Epona. Link can also whistle near the patches to summon an identical animal.
As with earlier Zelda games music plays a significant role in Twilight Princess. Link can play instruments that are musical, such as the flute or the harp, to attract and call on various animals. He can also command the wolf's form using his voice. He can also use his compass as a way to help him navigate through the world.
Characters
The Legend of Zelda series is full of vibrant characters that leave a lasting impression on players. From hands emerging from toilets to pirates traveling across vast oceans these wacky and unique characters are the core of the game. Twilight Princess continues the tradition of previous games by introducing a wide range of memorable characters.
Link is introduced to new NPCs throughout the story who are not only interesting, but also believable. It's a big leap forward that a lot of these NPCs aren't just there as victims and are a part of the story. NPCs such as Rusl who explains how the forest is becoming more dangerous and kidnaps children, or Ordon villager who snoop around as wolves when children are being kidnapped each has a distinct personality that feel authentic.
Other notable characters include Iza who runs the Boat Rental Cabin in Lanayru Province and Iza's rapid ride, Louise Telma’s cat, who assists Wolf Link find a secret access point to the castle through her bar, sewer system, and Faron whose spirit guides Link to the Forest Temple in Eldin Province. The two team members defeat the Fused Shadow possessed by Diababa and obtains the first Tear of Light.
Midna the princess of the Twilight Realm, is also one of the most fascinating characters in the game. demo slot pragmatic maxwin starlight princess can change between her wolf and human forms and is a part of the Triforce of Wisdom. She talks to Link about her experience in the twilight, and about how she defeated Zant the King of Twilight.
Zant is the evil sorcerer that rules the Twilight Realm. He possesses the second part of the Triforce of Wisdom. He was exiled to the Twilight Realm by the goddesses for stealing their land and enslaving people. Zant's magic keeps him permantently in wolf form, but Midna eliminates the power and allows him to change into his human form as required.
Epona is an improved horse that can be riding in both Wolf and Hylian forms. Link can whistle at grass patches to call the animal (similar to Majora's Mask). The player can identify the horse, making Twilight Princess the first time in the series that the player can customize their own horse.
Theme
Music is an integral part of any Zelda title. It can make a game feel massive exciting, expansive, and captivating. However, Twilight Princess is criticized for its inconsistent and sporadic soundtrack that doesn't convey the emotional impact of certain scenes. Ocarina of Time Majora's Mask and other games have captivating compositions that bloom at the perfect moment to create a feeling of grandeur and eeriness.
Twilight Princess was composed by Asuka Ohta and Toru Minegishi. Koji Kondo, the composer of the series' first time since Wind Waker, was in charge of overseeing the composers. The soundtrack for Twilight Princess is a bold departure from the traditional approach to the franchise, with a minimalist approach to melody and arrangement. The majority of themes for dungeons and fields start with a single instrument, creating an eerie and mysterious atmosphere for the player. For instance, the eerie music of Midna's lament makes use of an ordinary piano to create a soaring emotion for the player.
The most prominent examples are dungeon themes, that have a dark and sombre atmosphere. This approach is most evident in the Twilight Realm theme, which has a soundscape that would fit in the soundtrack to a David Lynch film. The unsettling and ominous nature of the track is amplified by the lack of recognisable melody and traditional arrangement, with dull drones and eerie patterns interspersed to create a dark, gloomy texture.
A more uplifting and joyous track is Link's hometown theme, "Faron Woods." This song uses a variety gentle sounds and strings to create a calm and safe feeling for the player. The song also includes subtle references to the franchise's most infamous scene, with a riff that is very similar to the iconic tune that plays at the start of Ocarina of Time.
There are also some dynamic songs in Twilight Princess that change depending on the location of the player, what they are doing, and what's happening. For instance the Hyrule Castle Town theme has various versions for each part of the town and Central Square being the most popular. Central Square having a more boisterous and full version of the tune. These variations add a wonderful flavor to the world of Hyrule and add a sense of deepness and immersion.
Story
The story of Twilight Princess revolves around Link trying to prevent Hyrule from being engulfed by the corrupted dimension known as the Twilight Realm. To accomplish this, Link takes on the form of an Hylian, a Wolf and is aided by a woman named Midna.
Midna was the original ruler of Twili but she was supplanted and cursed by Zant into her imp form. Link and Midna are informed by the Sages of the Old Testament that only defeating Ganondorf will be in a position to release them from their curse. The Sages reveal that the Mirror of Twilight causes the darkness to dwell in the Twilight Realm. Midna and Link journey to the Spirit's Spring where they encounter dangerous creatures that kidnap children. Utilizing Wolf Link's sharp sense of smell, they track the kids' scent to a bridge and then move into the Twilight Realm.
They enter the Forest Temple, battle Diababa and receive the first Fused Shadow. After that, Faron informs them that the next stop is Eldin Province to the west (Wii) or east (GCN).
At the Lakebed Temple in Lanayru, Midna transports Link to an erupting rock and uses her powers to melt the ice in the bottom of Lake Hylia. Rutela's spirit, the recently dead Zora queen, appears to Link and informs Link that he must visit the Lakebed Temple if he wants to unlock the treasure of Zora.
Returning from Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask, the horse Epona can be again ridden in Twilight Princess. Link can choose the name of the horse, a change from the predetermined names in the previous games.
When they arrive in the Twilight Realm, Midna and Link take back the remaining Mirror Shards. The Sages reveal to Midna that she is the true ruler of the Twili. She was passed over for the monarchy, and had turned to the god of power. The Sages advise them that they can only be defeated by Ganondorf by bringing Ganondorf to the light and break the pact made between the Twilight kingdom and Hyrule kingdom.
