The name of the series suggests that GE’s Profile series is targeted at people who want to incorporate cutting-edge technology into their kitchens. The refrigerator is brimming with them, from an in-the-door Keurig K-cup coffee maker to a clever water dispenser. But these flourishes don't mask mediocre performance, especially in the refrigerator's freezer and an ineffective temperature-controlled drawer. Since this refrigerator is an extra amount, I'd like to see higher quality.

This fridge is a good choice, despite the small blip. It boasts a spacious freezer compartment, which is quite uncommon in counter-depth French door fridges, and it holds a fair amount of frozen foods in comparison to similar models.

Inside the fridge, you'll find 17 shelves and compartments. The fridge compartment offers 18.5 cubic feet of space, which is about what you would expect from the size of a French door fridge costing this much. It also has a decent-sized icemaker packed into the left-hand door, although it isn't the largest I've seen.

The LED lighting adds a nice touch. The storage bins in the door have a third shelf which can be folded down to store large items. The drawers come with temperature controls that allow you to set them to Meat, Beverage, or Deli settings. The drawers are easy to open and shut however I found the plastic's textured coatings to be a bit rough on my fingers.

The GE PGE29BYTFS Smart Refrigerator includes the all the features you'd expect from a fridge at this price, including Wi-Fi and app support via GE's SmartHQ software. The app is available for iOS and Android devices and lets you manage your refrigerator from anywhere across the globe. It also offers numerous options for customizing. It also alerts you when doors are left open, when the fridge or freezer needs to be defrosted and when it's time to change the filter.

It is nice if the GE PYE22PYNFS included Precise fill, an option available in a handful of other GE refrigerators that allows you to set the number of cups of water you'd like to disperse at a time. The fridge displays a countdown timer to show you how much water remains however it's not as effective as Precise fill.

Bosch Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

Designed to look as a seamless element of your kitchen, Bosch's French-door refrigerator is an eye-catching piece. The fridge uses fingerprint-resistant stainless steel, which is a great feature for busy households. It also features a veggie compartment that keeps fruits and vegetables fresher for longer periods, and two compressors to preserve food. The Ice maker is among the best we've ever tested and produces pyramid-shaped ice that is low in water usage. This refrigerator is a great option for a single family or kitchenettes that want a built-in look and top of the line food preservation.

This fridge was rated the most efficient in our Refrigerators Test for several reasons. Its freezer temperatures remained constant at just above 0°F and never changed more than a tiny fraction - this is crucial to avoid the risk of a freezer burn. The fridge's fridge section also performed well, achieving the desired temperature for initial set within a matter of hours and keeping that temperature steady throughout the course of our testing.

The fridge has the standard French door design, and two rows of shelves that can be used to capture spills and a set of crisper drawers. The top shelf to the right can be folded down to make space for taller items. You'll also find a full width drawer for deli and an inside water dispenser.

One of the nice things about this refrigerator is that the ice maker is inside the freezer, making it easy to transfer the ice to the refrigerator to be used when it is required. The freezer also comes with clever design features, such as sliding drawers that help you organize your items. It also comes with a large bin that holds plenty of frozen food and a separate storage bin for ice.

Smart InstaView panel is another awesome feature of the refrigerator. You can manage the temperature, lighting and other aspects of your fridge using your smartphone. It's a nice way to monitor and manage your refrigerator, especially if you're away from home.

Although the Smart InstaView is a neat feature, it does not necessarily improve the overall performance of the refrigerator. This fridge took longer to chill food and defrost it than other models we test. This could be due to the bigger capacity.

The doors are another problem with this refrigerator. They have sunken handles on the front that allow smaller people to open them from the bottom, however they're difficult for taller people to steer shut without slamming them. It would have been much better if they had front-mounted handle.

The LG Counter-Depth MAX is a ideal choice for those who want to combine the benefits of a fridge with a French door with an efficient layout. It has a capacity that is higher than average for counter-depth models, and it cools evenly. It's also a little less than the best counter depth refrigerator with an icemaker, which makes it an attractive choice.

Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

This Frigidaire French door refrigerator is a good option if you want a French-door refrigerator that doesn't cost a lot of budget. It's a basic fridge which may not be as attractive as its rivals however it has enough features to make a suitable option. Its most important feature, the adjustable temperature drawer helps to keep food like vegetables and meat fresher longer. It also comes with a large ice maker and a water dispenser.

The "Chill Drawer", which sits over the two crisper bins, is a nice feature. This drawer allows you to direct a portion of your fridge's cooling power to this area so it can be used to store food items that require special attention. This feature is adjustable using a slider on the outside of the drawer. It is also possible to use this to set a general cooling level for the entire fridge, however, I've found that changing the generic settings tends to be more effective than specific ones.

In my experiments, I noticed that the temperatures in the refrigerator were fairly consistent in different areas of the fridge. The temperatures in the top, bottom and middle of the refrigerator did not differ much from 38 degrees. This is a pretty good performance, but it doesn't quite be among the top in our ratings.

This fridge has a few other neat features, including a temperature-monitoring display that alerts you to fluctuations and provides a forecast for the day ahead. The fridge can be linked with a smart thermostat in order to obtain more precise readings of the internal temperature of your fridge.

The Frigidaire FGHB2866PF's exterior is constructed of grey-bodied stainless steel that has a "smudge-proof" finish. It is capable of removing streaks and fingerprints, even compared to shiny stainless steel finishes on other appliances I've tried.
