After weeks of rumors, Valve has finally announced Counter Strike new. It's a major update for CS:GO which will bring it onto the Source 2 engine.

Smokes

Loadouts

CS: GO players are now able to alter their weapon selection prior the start of each match. The new loadout system allows the players to choose weapons that fit their style of play and team's strategies. The new system adds depth to the game as players must balance both firepower and utility.

A new video highlights the biggest improvements to the game, also known as sub tick updates.

Rather than the 64-tick update that occurs every millisecond, CS: GO will now be able to use sub-ticks (or as Valve calls them, "micro-ticks") to communicate with the server. The client will keep track of each of tiny increments and then send them to the server. The server will then transmit the updated game's state back to players. The servers will now know exactly moment when you shot or jumped, peeked or made other inputs.

While a minute-long video is not enough to fully explain everything, the video explains that each piece of information sent by the client is accompanied by a time stamp, and that the server will collect all the data from all players in chronological order prior to sending it back. According to the video, a CS: GO server will be able to send more than twice the data as a 64-tick servers.

This means that even if the tick rate of the game is increased to 128 Hz, the game will still be able to handle your commands instantly. It's not only about increasing the tick rate also, the micro-tick updates will also reduce input lag and latency by guaranteeing that the server responds to your actions with no delays or glitches.

Valve's technical enhancements to the game are just beginning. The company is implementing dynamic smoke and particle systems to improve the way smoke interacts with the environment and is upgrading all of the maps with high-resolution lighting, textures and models. Maps

The next update for Counter Strike New brings new maps and a few classics with facelifts. The updates are currently being tested in a limited-test beta. Another map that's been overhauled is Italy and has undergone a significant overhaul in texture lighting, structure, and lighting. The news organization has been a vocal critic of Russia's actions in Ukraine and the map is based from the city that was devastated by war in Donetsk. The map is dubbed de_voyna and contains numerous references to the conflict.

The developer will release a collection of Source 2 Tools for map makers in the future.
