Why We Love Best Robot Vacuum Cleaner For Pet Hair (And You Should Also!)
Best Robot Vacuum Cleaner For Pet Hair

If you have a pet, you must find a robotic vacuum cleaner that can keep up. This list contains the top robot vacuums that come with features such as self-emptying bins, smart scheduling and more.

Find a model that will fit under furniture and comes with the ability to detect hazard hazards in real-time and prevent hitting objects in your home. Other important factors include the level of noise and mapping capabilities.

1. iRobot Roomba j7+ Self-Emptying Robot Vacuum

Robot vacuums are great time-saving devices but they can also run into trouble when a toy or cord gets stuck within the wheels. The machine will stop when this happens. iRobot Combo j7+ aggressively attempts to prevent that, which makes it the one of the first robots we've tested to mop. It's the best in its class at cleaning and navigating different kinds of flooring.

The navigation system of the j7+ utilizes both a forward-facing camera and lasers in order to identify obstacles like furniture legs or power cords that could get in its way. It also recognizes the type of surface, which helps it choose the right cleaning mode for each space. This means that it will perform better for different floor types, including pet hair and other debris which tend to stick to low-pile carpet.

In our tests the j7+ performed an excellent job on bare floors and picked up 97.3 percent of a Cheerios-strewn floor, beating out the Roborock S4 Max and Eufy RoboVac X8 Hybrid, but falling short of their perfect cereal pickup scores. It was pretty good on carpets with low piles as well, but it was unable to climb up onto high-pile floors and was more likely to skim the surface instead of digging into it.

In contrast to most robot vacuums which empty in the bottom of the unit, the j7+ self-empties within the dock. You can either create a schedule to empty the vacuum automatically or manually using a single button press. iRobot also reduced the size of the dock, so that you can put it in more places within your home.

The J7+ is priced higher than the vacuum-only Roomba i4, but offers many more features. It's the best robot we've seen in avoiding obstacles, and it has superior brushes, edge-sweeping mops as well as dual multi-surface rubber brushes and better navigation. It's also backed by iRobot's Pet Owner's Official Promise: The manufacturer promises to replace any unit that fails to avoid solid pet waste. We believe that the j7+ is well worth the extra expense, especially if you live with pets and live in a chaotic or messy living space.

2. Eufy RoboVac X8 Hybrid

The eufy RoboVac X8 Hybrid ticks all of the boxes required for a robot cleaner. It has a high battery performance and can be set to clean on a regular basis and offers improved smarts with multiple maps and LIDAR scanning. It can be used to mop hardwood floors and its twin turbine technology automatically adjusts the suction to the type of surface.

It's an enormous improvement in terms of features and design compared to the previous robot vacuums from the company. While it's similar to other robots on the market (round and relatively shallow) it boasts attractive bronze accents that give it a premium appearance.

The X8 is simple to use and comes with an excellent companion app for iOS and Android devices. The interface is simple, well-performing and easy to navigate and makes it enjoyable to use day-in or day-out. It has a couple of distinct features, including the ability to divide off areas that you don't want it to clean and the option to transfer it to any location on your home's map with only one click.

It was enjoyable to observe how swiftly and effectively the X8 removed pet hairs and dirt off hard floors. It also did a fantastic job on high-pile carpet and bare floors which makes it an extremely versatile all-rounder. The comb can become clogged with hair, but a quick lift of the comb, and then cutting from a pair will take care of that.

The X8 comes with a two-year warranty and a handy charging dock. The X8 can take up to four hours to fully charge.

The V3s Pro scored highly in our tests because of its tangle-free suction. It collected all the pet hair we placed on the floor without it getting tangled up or caught in the machine. It was able pick up some of the larger hair pieces I put on the floor which other machines were unable to. The ILIFE V3s Pro was also adept at maneuvering in tight spaces, and its low profile allowed it to easily travel under sofas and bed frames.

However it's not without faults. Like many budget robot vacuums, the V3s Pro isn't capable of collecting debris from high-pile carpets or carpets. In addition the X2 Omni is able to also vacuum while mopping, or vacuum first, then mop, allowing you to have the greatest flexibility in the floor-cleaning process.

You can also establish zones that are not allowed to enter to stop your robot vacuum from accessing certain parts of your home. This will ensure that your robot is only cleaning the areas you want it to.

If you prefer to operate your robovac hands-free, the upgraded YIKO 2.0 voice assistant can take commands like "talk back" and command adjustments like "move forward and clean there" and advanced scheduling commands like "schedule at 10am every Saturday". It can also work with third-party smart hubs such as Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant which means you can easily connect your existing system.
