These Are The Most Common Mistakes People Make When Using Twilight Princess
Twilight Princess Game Review
The darkest and most serious of the Nintendo 3D Zelda games, Twilight Princess pushes the limits of graphical presentation to its limit on the Wii's hardware. It's darker and more threatening than The Wind Waker. There aren't any bug-eyed pigs, nor effeminate Pirates.
Link is pulled into a parallel dimension known as Twilight Realm, where he transforms into a Hylian and a wolf, while being guided by Midna.
Gameplay
Twilight Princess is the thirteenth installment in The Legend of Zelda series. It was released in 2006 for the Nintendo GameCube system and Wii. Reviewers praised the game with excellent scores in a variety of publications including 1UP CVG EGM and GamesRadar. Many consider it to be the best game in the franchise and the most popular Zelda title on the PAL market.
Twilight Princess has a stylized, naturalistic style of graphics that is similar to Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask and Ocarina of Time, but with a more sophisticated graphics engine. Twilight princess is the first game in the series with the full directional control scheme, instead of a fixed view like the previous games. This change was made to accommodate the Wii console's touchscreen that is based on pointing. The GameCube version comes with an area in the back of the game, with mirror-image maps, which are for those who prefer a fixed view.
Link transforms into a wolf when he enters the Twilight Realm. demo starlight princess encounters Midna, a mysterious creature. She informs Link that the kingdom of Hyrule is now under the control of a group of shadow beasts, led by the evil sorcerer Zant. She also explains that she is the real ruler of Twili, but was usurped and cursed to her present form by Zant.
A short cutscene shows soldiers being killed by the shadow beasts after Link and Midna reach Hyrule Castle. Then, Link and Midna escape from the castle by a tunnel and enter the Twilight Realm.
In the Twilight Realm, Link can use his wolf form to move more freely around the world. Link can also use his senses to navigate the world. He can sense ghosts of soldiers and animals in the distance. He can also whistle and pull grass from certain patches to summon an animal, such as a Hawk, Epona or other. Alternatively, Link can howl near these patches to summon the same animal.
Twilight Princess is no different from other Zelda games in that music plays a major role. Link can play an instrument of music, such as the harp or flute to draw attention to and summon animals. He can also use his voice to command the wolf's appearance. In addition, he can use his compass to guide him around the world and avoid getting lost.
Characters
The Legend of Zelda series is full of colorful characters that leave an unforgettable impression on players. From hands emerging from toilets to pirate sailors traversing vast oceans, these quirky and creative personalities are the essence of the game. Twilight Princess continues the tradition of previous games by introducing a variety of memorable characters.
Throughout the story, Link meets new NPCs who are not just interesting, but also believable. It's a major step in the right direction that many of these NPCs actually play a role in the story instead of just acting as victims. NPCs such as Rusl who states that the forest is more risky now and kidnaps children as well as the Ordon villager who disguises himself as a wolf when the children are being kidnapped all have distinct personalities.
Other notable characters include Iza who runs the Boat Rental Cabin as well as Iza's Rapid Ride in the Lanayru Province, Louise, the cat of Telma who helps Wolf Link locate a secret passageway through her bar and sewer system that leads to the castle, and Faron who's spirit helps guide Link and Midna to the Forest Temple in the Eldin Province. The two team members defeat Diababa's Fused Shadow and obtains the first Tear of Light.
Midna is the princess of the Twilight Realm and one of the most intriguing characters in the game. She has a sliver of the Triforce of Wisdom and can switch between her human and her impish wolf form. She accosts Link and tells him about her experience in the twilight realm and how she defeated Zant the king of Twilight.
Zant, who possesses the other half of the Triforce of Wisdom, is an evil sorcerer and ruler of the Twilight Realm. The goddesses banished him to the Twilight Realm for enslaving their people and taking over their territory. Zant's magic enables him to remain in wolf form, however Midna eliminates the power and allows him to transform into his human form when required.
Epona is a better horse that can be ridden in both the wolf and Hylian forms. Link can whistle near specific grass patches in order to call the animal. (similar to Majora’s Mask). The player is able to name the horse and customize the horse, making Twilight Princess the first time in the series that the player can customize their own horse.
Theme
Music is one of the most important elements of any Zelda game and can make a place feel huge thrilling, epic, and captivating. However, Twilight Princess is criticized for its erratic and inconsistent soundtrack that fails to convey the emotional impact of certain scenes. Ocarina of Time Majora's Mask and other games have stunning compositions that explode at the right moment to create a sense of majestic and eerie.
Twilight Princess was composed by Asuka Ohta and Toru Minegishi. Koji Kondo, the composer of the series' first time since Wind Waker was responsible for overseeing the composers. The soundtrack to Twilight Princess is a radical departure from the typical approach to the series, with the minimalist approach to melody and arrangement. The majority of dungeon and field themes begin with a single instrument, creating a hypnotic and eerie atmosphere for the player. For instance, the eerie music in Midna's Lament utilizes the piano to create an overflowing sense of sorrow for the player.
The most well-known examples are dungeon themes which have a dreary atmosphere. This is evident in Twilight Realm, which has an dark soundscape that could be found in an original David Lynch movie. The absence of melody and the traditional arrangement of this track accentuates its ominous, unsettling nature. Drones and odd patterns are interspersed to create a dark and eerie sound.
Link's hometown song, "Faron Woods," is a more energetic and joyful song. The song makes use of various soft tones and stringed instruments to evoke an idyllic feeling of peace and safety for the player. The song contains subtle references to the most well-known scene in the franchise since it features a melody that is reminiscent of the famous melody that plays at the Ocarina of Time's start.
There are also some dynamic songs in Twilight Princess that change depending on where the player is and what they're doing, and what's happening. For example the Hyrule Castle Town theme has different versions for each section of the town, with Central Square having a more energetic and full version of the song. These variations add a wonderful flavor to the world of Hyrule and add a sense of depth and immersion.
Story
The story of Twilight Princess revolves around Link trying to prevent Hyrule from being engulfed by the corrupted parallel dimension referred to as the Twilight Realm. To achieve this, Link takes on the form of a Hylian, the form of a Wolf and is assisted by a woman named Midna.
Midna is the original ruler of the Twili, but she was usurped by Zant and cursed to her imp form. The Sages of the past explain to Link and Midna that only the defeat of Ganondorf will remove them from their curse. The Sages reveal that the Mirror of Twilight causes the darkness to exist in the Twilight Realm. Midna and Link travel to the Spirit's Spring, where they encounter hostile monsters that kidnap children. With Wolf Link's acute sense of smell, they trace the kids' scent to a bridge and then move into the Twilight Realm.
They enter the Forest Temple, battle Diababa and receive the first Fused Shadow. Following this, Faron informs them that the next stop is Eldin Province to the west (Wii) or east (GCN).
Midna at the Lakebed Temple of Lanayru teleports Link to a fiery rock and then uses her powers on the ice below Lake Hylia. The spirit of the recently deceased Zora Queen, Rutela, then appears and informs Link that he must go to the Lakebed Temple in order to gain access to a treasure from the Zora.
Twilight Princess allows you to ride Epona the horse from Ocarina of Time or Majora's Mask. Link can choose the name of the horse, in contrast to the predetermined names used in previous games.
After arriving in the Twilight Realm, Midna and Link take back the remaining Mirror Shards. The Sages inform Midna that she is the true ruler of the Twili. She was passed over for the monarchy, and was relegated to the god of power. The Sages tell them that they can only be defeated by Ganondorf when they bring him to light and break the pact between the Twilight kingdom and Hyrule kingdom.
