Three Common Reasons Your Bentley Key Fob Programming Isn't Performing (And The Best Ways To Fix It)
Bentley Mulsanne Key Celebrates Its Centenary
Bentley's bespoke coachbuilding division, Mulliner, has designed an exclusive key case to mark the centennial of the company. It is constructed of Dark Stained Burr Walnut with Piano Black Veneer and includes the flying "B" paperweight keys, as well as an original 1930s booklet that features never-before-seen 1930s 8 Litre images.
This is the perfect way to welcome a new owner of a vehicle.
Aesthetics
As a design-oriented company Bentley takes its aesthetics seriously. This is evident in the precise placement of its quilting as well as the use of leather from by-products of cattle and sustainable-managed forests, and the innovative patterns of its levers. A car like the Continental GT W12 beckons as you approach it to show its sculptural beauty and power through carefully planned lighting.
The Continental GT is Bentley's most sophisticated open-top vehicle. Its rear tonneau for example, showcased the biggest piece of dark-stained, book-matched Burr Walnut veneer ever applied to a production Bentley. Similarly, the electrically-operated glass sunroof and champagne cooler that incorporated hand-blown and hand-cut lead crystal bottles marked a new benchmark in luxury and innovation.
It is this unique design, craftsmanship and attention to detail that has established Bentley as the most sought-after automotive brand. The firm continues to push the boundaries by utilizing the most advanced technology and manufacturing techniques, such as the introduction of an instrument cluster that is digital with an electric tilt-opening back glass sunroof, an artisan-made docking station for Apple iPads, and electrochromic 'smart' glass that can be switched between opaque and transparent by pressing an arrow.
Bentley celebrated its 100th anniversary this year, a century after it was established. The marque, currently owned by Volkswagen alone following years of tense relations with BMW and BMW, had planned a variety of special launches and events to mark this historic occasion. The marque planned a series of special events and launches to commemorate the historic occasion before the pandemic was declared a priority.
Design
Bentley is a premium car manufacturer who produces extravagant and luxurious vehicles. However, even the keys are an oath. The Bentayga key is crafted from sterling silver. It features an oversized 'B' logo that lets everyone know you're a Bentley. The key is also embossed with the dates 1919 and 2019 to commemorate the company's centennial.
The Mulsanne was redesigned and redeveloped by Bentley Mulliner to become the ultimate Grand Touring car. The rear seats were designed to give passengers the most comfortable and private experience. They were inspired by the luxurious private aircraft. The unique heating and ventilation as well as air conditioning system was developed to provide each passenger with the perfect temperature control.
The Mulsanne features a twin turbocharged 6.75 litre W12 engine with 560bhp, and 479lb-ft of torque. This incredibly powerful power is paired with a new suspension system that provides Bentley's trademark smooth ride.
Bentley has announced a special specification for cars built after 2019 to commemorate its centenary. This is referred to as the Centenary Specification. The cabin has cross-stitching, and contrast stitching in Centenary Gold throughout. The Bentley Wings are embroidered with Centenary Gold on the headrests and seats as well as other areas of the car. This enhances the celebration. The Centenary Specification also includes a custom Bentley keycase, adding to the Bentley experience.
Function
The Bentley Mulsanne Key features two buttons: one that opens the trunk, and the other that turns on the vehicle. It also has a switch that can turn on the parking break. There is a knob to fold and unfold the mirrors when parked in tight areas. This feature makes it easier to get in and out of your car.
The key is made from vegetable tanned leather and takes about two days to create each one. The key is cut by hand, then shaped, sewed after which it is sealed and polished to produce a premium result. It is strong and compact, and will fit the Bentley key perfectly. Its design is akin to the Volkswagen Phaeton large car's key however, it feels heavier and has a premium feel.
It also has Secure-A-Key, which helps prevent theft of keys that are keyless. This device is placed inside the remote control fob and it shuts it down in the event that the key isn't used for a short period of time. It blocks thieves from transmitting the key's frequency to other devices that will allow the key to be opened and start the vehicle.
Bentley's unique design is a reflection of the values of the company which include exquisite craftsmanship engineering expertise and cutting-edge technologies. Its headquarters in Crewe are home to more than 4000 employees responsible for the design, development, and production of Bentley vehicles. These workers apply skills that have been handed through generations and apply them to cutting-edge technology in the automotive industry. This is the hallmark of British manufacturing at its best.
Personalisation
Bentley's Mulliner division lets customers design their car. Guests sit at a series of pictures referred to as "mood stations" and pick a set of photos ranging from scenic vistas to sporting events - that will inspire them. Each time a selection is made, a pattern is created, which reveals the design and color preferences for the customized Bentley.
The guests receive keys made by hand that contains the R.F.I.D. enabled key cards. Keys can also be fitted with Bentley Muliner Personalised Welcome Lamps that illuminate the door's opening path with the owner's name, or emblem as they make their way towards the vehicle.
Bentley estimates that it requires 500 man-hours to construct and assemble a Mulsanne. The main reason for this lengthy effort is a conscious refusal to take advantage of modern technology. Instead of using a machine to space the perfectly-matched leather seats workers at the Crewe factory do it by hand. Instead of using the car's built-in sensors to guide it to perpendicular and parallel parking spaces drivers must do it by hand.
