Check Out: How Twilight Princess Is Taking Over And What You Can Do About It
Twilight Princess Game Review
Twilight Princess is the darkest most serious, most serious and serious Nintendo 3D Zelda game. It pushes graphical presentation on the Wii to its limits. It's more unnerving and murky than The Wind Waker, with no bug-eyed pig guards, or even effeminate pirates.
Link is dragged into a dimension that is called Twilight Realm, where he takes the form of an Hylian and a wolf, while being guided by Midna.
Gameplay
The thirteenth installment in The Legend of Zelda is Twilight Princess. It was released in 2006 for the Nintendo GameCube system and Wii. The game was highly acclaimed by critics, receiving perfect scores from a variety of publications, including 1UP, CVG, EGM and GamesRadar. Many consider it to be the best game in the franchise and the most popular Zelda title on the PAL market.
Twilight Princess features naturalistic, stylized style of graphics that is similar to Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask and Ocarina of Time, but with a more sophisticated graphical engine. It is the first game in the series with an entirely directional motion control system, instead of a fixed view like the previous games. This change was made in order to accommodate the Wii console, which features an interface that is based on pointing. The GameCube version has an area at the back of the game with mirror-image maps, which are for those who prefer an image that is fixed.
When entering slot demo starlight princess 1000x , Link is transformed into a wolf, and then meets Midna, the mysterious creature. She reveals to Link that the kingdom of Hyrule is now under the control of a group of shadow beasts, led by the evil sorcerer Zant. She also explains that she's the real ruler of Twili but was taken over and cursed to her present form by Zant.
A short cutscene shows the soldiers being slain by shadow beasts when Link and Midna reach Hyrule Castle. Link and Midna then escape the castle through a tunnel to enter the Twilight Realm.
In the Twilight Realm, Link can utilize his wolf-like form to move around more freely around the world. Link can also use his senses to navigate around the world. For example, he can hear the spirits of dead soldiers and other animals that are in the distance. He can also pick grass from specific patches and whistle using it to summon an animal, like a Hawk or Epona. Link can also whistle near the patches to summon an identical animal.
Twilight Princess is no different from previous Zelda titles in that music plays an important role. Link can play an instrument that is musical like the flute or the harp, to draw and call upon different animals. Link can also command the wolf's form by speaking. In addition, he can use his compass to guide him through the world and avoid getting lost.
Characters
The Legend of Zelda series is filled with colorful characters that leave a lasting impression on players. From hands emerging from toilets to pirate sailors traveling across vast oceans these quirky and creative personalities are the essence of the game. Twilight Princess continues the tradition of previous games by introducing a range of memorable characters.
Link is introduced to new NPCs throughout the story who are not only interesting but also believable. It's a huge leap forward that a lot of these NPCs aren't just there as victims they actually have a role to play in the story. NPCs such as Rusl who explains why the forest is becoming more dangerous and kidnaps children, or the Ordon villagers who sneak around as wolves while the children are being kidnapped, all have unique personalities that seem genuine.
Other notable characters include Iza, who operates the Boat Rental Cabin as well as Iza's Rapid Ride in the Lanayru Province, Louise, Telma's cat, who assists Wolf Link locate a secret passageway through her bar and sewer system into the castle, and Faron, whose spirit guides Link and Midna to the Forest Temple in the Eldin Province. The two team members defeat the Fused Shadow possessed by Diababa and receives the first Tear of Light.
Midna is the princess of the Twilight Realm and one of the most captivating characters in the game. She can change between her wolf and human forms and possesses a piece of the Triforce of Wisdom. She shares with Link about her experience in the twilight, and about how she defeated Zant the King of Twilight.
Zant is the evil sorcerer who controls the Twilight Realm. He possesses the second half of the Triforce of Wisdom. He was removed to the Twilight Realm by the goddesses for stealing their land and enslaving people. Midna removes Zant's power, which allows him to change into his human form when required.
Epona is a more powerful horse that can be used in both the wolf and Hylian forms. Link can whistle near certain areas of grass to summon the animal (similar to Majora's Mask). The player can name the horse which makes Twilight Princess the first time in the series that a player can customize their own horse.
Theme
Music is one of the most important parts of any Zelda game and can make a world feel expansive exciting, epic, and thrilling. Twilight Princess' soundtrack is criticised for being inconsistent and sporadic that doesn't capture certain emotions. Contrastingly, Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask are enthralling soundtracks that explode at precisely the right moment to create a feeling of grandness and eerie.
Twilight Princess was composed by Asuka Ohta and Toru Minegishi. Koji Kondo, the composer of the series for the first since Wind Waker was in charge of overseeing the composers. The soundtrack for Twilight Princess is a bold departure from the usual approach to the franchise with a minimalist approach to the melody and arrangement. The majority of dungeon and field themes begin with a single instrument, creating a hypnotic and eerie atmosphere for the player. For example, the haunting music of Midna's lament makes use of an ordinary piano to create a soaring emotion for the player.
Dungeon themes are among the most prominent examples of this trend towards minimalism, with many Dungeons displaying a dark and dark atmosphere. This approach is most evident in the Twilight Realm theme, which has a soundscape that would be appropriate for the soundtrack to a David Lynch film. The absence of melody and the classic arrangement of this track emphasizes its ominous, unsettling nature. Drones and odd patterns collide to create a dark, eerie texture.
Link's song from his hometown, "Faron Woods," is a more uplifting and joyful song. The song makes use of a variety of strings and soft sounds to create a calm and secure experience for the player. The song contains a subtle nod to the most well-known scene in the franchise, since it features a thematic riff that's similar to the iconic melody that plays at Ocarina of Time's start.
Twilight Princess also has dynamic songs that change based on the player's whereabouts, what they are doing and what's taking place. For instance, the Hyrule Castle Town theme has various versions for each part of the town and Central Square being the most popular. Central Square having a more lively and full version of the song. These variations are a nice touch that helps to add an element of depth and immersion into the world of Hyrule.
Story
The story of Twilight Princess revolves around Link trying to prevent Hyrule from being engulfed by the corrupted parallel dimension known as the Twilight Realm. To accomplish this, he takes the form of a Hylian and an Wolf, as well as being assisted by a woman named Midna.
Midna was the original ruler of Twili but she was supplanted and cursed by Zant to transform into her imp form. Link and Midna are informed by the Sages of the Old Testament that only by defeating Ganondorf will be capable of releasing them from their curse. The Sages reveal that the Mirror of Twilight is the source of the darkness in the Twilight Realm. Midna and Link travel to the Spirit's Spring, where they encounter hostile monsters that kidnap children. Using Wolf Link's keen sense of smell, they follow the kids' scent to a bridge, and then move into the Twilight Realm.
They enter the Forest Temple and battle Diababa to obtain the first Fused Shadow. Faron informs them of the next destination, the Eldin Province in the west (Wii) or the east (GCN).
At the Lakebed Temple in Lanayru, Midna is able to teleport Link to a fiery rock and uses her power to melt the ice in the bottom of Lake Hylia. Rutela's spirit who is the recently dead Zora queen appears to Link and tells him that he needs to visit the Lakebed Temple if he wants to access the treasure of Zora.
Returning from Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask, the horse Epona is able to be riding in Twilight Princess. Contrary to the name of the set used in the two aforementioned games, Link can now decide the horse's name himself.
Midna and Link can recover the remaining Mirror Shards once they arrive in the Twilight Realm. The Sages inform Midna that she is the true ruler of the Twili. She was passed over for the monarchy, and was relegated to a power-hungry god. The Sages also tell them that the only way to defeat Ganondorf is to bring him into the light and break the pact between Twilight and Hyrule kingdoms.
