10 Things Everybody Hates About Twilight Princess
Twilight Princess Game Review

The most dark and serious of the Nintendo 3D Zelda games, Twilight Princess pushes the limits of graphic presentation to its final limits on the Wii's hardware. It's more tense and ambiguous than The Wind Waker, with a lack of bug-eyed pig guards, or even effeminate pirates.

Link is dragged into a parallel dimension called Twilight Realm, where he assumes the form of a Hylian and a wolf while being guided by Midna.

Gameplay

Twilight Princess is the thirteenth installment in The Legend of Zelda series. It was released in 2006 for the Nintendo GameCube system and Wii. The game was highly praised by critics and received top scores from various publications, including 1UP, CVG, EGM, and GamesRadar. Many consider it to be the best game in the franchise and the most viewed Zelda title on the PAL market.

Twilight princess features a stylized and naturalistic graphics style, similar to Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask but with a more sophisticated graphic engine. Twilight princess is the first game in the series with an entirely directional motion control scheme, rather than a fixed viewpoint like previous games. This modification was made in order to work with the Wii console's touchscreen that is based on pointing. The GameCube version comes with a section at the back of the game with mirror-image maps, for those who prefer an unchanging view.

After entering the Twilight Realm, Link is transformed into a wolf and comes across Midna, an unidentified creature. She informs Link that the kingdom of Hyrule is now under the control of a group shadow beasts that are led by the evil sorcerer Zant. She also explains she is the real ruler of Twili but was supplanted by Zant and cursed to her current form.

A short cutscene shows soldiers being killed by the shadow creatures when Link and Midna reach Hyrule Castle. Then, Link and Midna escape from the castle through a tunnel and enter the Twilight Realm.

In the Twilight Realm, Link can utilize his wolf-like form to move around more freely throughout the world. He can also use senses to navigate the world. He can hear the ghosts of soldiers and animals in the distance. He can also pick grass from certain patches and then whistle using it to summon an animal, such as a Hawk or Epona. Or, Link can howl near these patches to summon the same animal.

Twilight Princess is no different from earlier Zelda games in that music plays a significant role. Link can use an instrument of music, such as the harp or flute to draw attention to and summon animals. He can also command the wolf's form through his voice. Additionally, akun demo slot starlight princess rupiah can use his compass to guide him around the world and keep him from getting lost.

Characters

The Legend of Zelda is full of colorful and unique characters that leave an impression that will last forever. These quirky and creative personalities such as hands emerging from toilets to pirates sailing across vast oceans, are the heart of the game. Twilight Princess continues in the tradition of previous games, and introduces numerous memorable characters.

In the course of the story, Link meets new NPCs who are not just intriguing, but also plausible. It's a major step in the right direction to have many of these NPCs actually play a part in the story, rather than just being a victim. NPCs such as Rusl who explains why the forest is becoming more dangerous and kidnaps children, or Ordon villagers who sneak around as wolves when the kids are kidnapped each has a distinct personality that feel genuine.

Other notable characters include Iza who manages the Boat Rental Cabin in Lanayru Province and Iza's rapid ride, Louise Telma’s cat, who helps Wolf Link find a secret access point to the castle through her bar and sewer system, and Faron whose spirit guides Link to the Forest Temple in Eldin Province. The two team members defeat the Fused Shadow possessed by Diababa and receives the first Tear of Light.

Midna is the princess of the Twilight Realm and one of the most interesting characters in the game. She is able to switch between wolf and human forms and has a piece of the Triforce of Wisdom. She shares with Link about her experience at the twilight, and how she defeated Zant the King of Twilight.

Zant, who possesses the other part of the Triforce of Wisdom, is an evil sorcerer and ruler of the Twilight Realm. The goddesses relegated him to the Twilight Realm for enslaving their people and enslaving their territory. Midna removes Zant's power, which allows him to change into his human form if required.

Epona is an improved horse that can be ridden in both Wolf and Hylian forms. Link can whistle at certain patches of grass to call the animal. (similar to Majora's Mask). Twilight Princess is the first game in the series in which the player can name their horse.

Theme

Music is among the most important elements of any Zelda game and it can make the world feel vast exciting, epic, and thrilling. However, Twilight Princess is criticized for its inconsistent and unreliable soundtrack that doesn't convey the emotional impact of certain scenes. Ocarina of Time Majora's Mask and other games have captivating music that explode at the right moment to give you a sense of majestic and eerie.

Toru Minegishi and Asuka Ohta were the composers for the sound design and music in Twilight Princess, with Koji Kondo as the composer in charge for the first time since Wind Waker. The soundtrack for Twilight Princess is a bold departure from the usual approach to the series, with an approach that is minimalist in terms of music and arrangement. Most field and dungeon music starts with a single instrumental that creates a mystical and eerie atmosphere for the player. For instance, the haunting music in Midna's Lament utilizes a simple piano to create an overflowing sense of sorrow for the player.

The most popular examples are dungeon themes which have a dreary atmosphere. This is particularly evident in Twilight Realm, which has an unsettling soundscape that could be heard in a David Lynch movie. The ominous and unsettling nature of this track is accentuated by the absence of identifiable melody and traditional arrangement, with dreary drones and bizarre patterns interspersed to create a dark, gloomy texture.

Link's song from his hometown, "Faron Woods," is a more upbeat and joyful song. This song employs a variety of soft sounds and strings to create a peaceful and secure experience for the player. The song also has a subtle reference to the franchise's most well-known scene, as it features the riff which is like the iconic tune that plays at the start of Ocarina of Time.

There are also some dynamic songs in Twilight Princess that change depending on the location of the player in the game, what they're doing, and the events that are taking place. For instance the Hyrule Castle Town theme has various versions for each part of the town, with Central Square having a more lively and full version of the song. These variations add a great touch to the world of Hyrule, adding a sense depth and immersion.

Story

The story of Twilight Princess revolves around Link trying to stop Hyrule from being sucked into the corrupted parallel dimension referred to as the Twilight Realm. To accomplish this, he adopts the form of a Hylian and a Wolf as well as being assisted by a woman named Midna.

Midna was the first ruler of Twili but she was usurped and cursed by Zant into her imp form. The Sages of the Old Testament inform Link and Midna that only defeating Ganondorf will be the key to their release from their curse. The Sages explain that the Mirror of Twilight causes the darkness to dwell in the Twilight Realm. Midna and Link travel to the Spirit's Spring, where they encounter dangerous monsters who kidnap children. With Wolf Link's sharp sense of smell, they trace the kids' scent to a bridge before they move into the Twilight Realm.

They enter the Forest Temple, battle Diababa and obtain the first Fused Shadow. Following this, Faron informs them that the next stop is the Eldin Province to the west (Wii) or east (GCN).

At the Lakebed Temple in Lanayru, Midna transports Link to the fiery rock and uses her powers to melt the ice at the bottom of Lake Hylia. The spirit of Rutela, the recently deceased Zora Queen, Rutela, then appears and informs Link that he must go to the Lakebed Temple in order to access a treasure of the Zora.

Returning from Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask, the horse Epona can again be ridden in Twilight Princess. Unlike the set name used in the two previous games, Link can now decide the name of the horse himself.

Midna and Link can recover the remaining Mirror Shards once they arrive in the Twilight Realm. The Sages reveal to Midna that she is the real ruler of the Twili. She was a pawn over for the monarchy, and was relegated to a power-hungry god. The Sages tell them that they will only defeat Ganondorf when they bring him to light and break the pact made between the Twilight kingdom and the Hyrule kingdom.
