This Is How Three Wheeled Buggies Will Look Like In 10 Years
Three Wheeled Buggies

Whether you're looking for a buggy run around in or a nifty stroller to tackle neighbourhood walks, three wheeled buggies are great for mobility. Their compact design allows them to be maneuvered easily even in tight spaces.

For a smooth ride, go for a pram fitted with air-filled tyres. Look for models with a 360deg front swivel wheel. They are susceptible, however to punctures. Make sure you have a repair set.

Sturdy frame

Recent figures have been released that show that the three-wheeled buggy - a symbol of the noughties of more money than wisdom - is in steep decline. Four-wheelers have replaced them, which are more versatile and easy to drive while still looking fashionable.

The rule is that the bigger the wheels, the easier it will be for your buggy to cope with bumpy and rough pavements. With larger wheels front and back makes it much easier to manoeuvre and more stable when walking downhill or on rough terrain.

MFM reviewer Kath tested this buggy with the newborn baby and a 3-year-old child and found it to be extremely durable. It was able to handle cobbles, grass and rough pavements, aswell as dirt tracks and kerbs. She said "it is sturdy to push and is very stable when going over difficult terrain. The tyres, that are inflatable and need to be pumped regularly, have built-in suspension. This was very comfortable for my children.

Another thing to take into consideration is the seat size and shape. You'll want it to be large enough for your child's comfort and you will also need it to recline so that they can lie flat. Some three-wheel buggies have the option of lying flat, which lets your child face you, while other buggies only permit a parent-facing option.

An excellent option for taking on off-road and muddy trails is the Roma Atlas. This buggy is suitable for a single child from birth and can be adjusted to accommodate two children as your family grows. It is suitable for toddlers and infants from birth to age 4 and includes a bumper and raincover, a new 5-point harness, and a large padded seat. The storage options are great as well, with a decent-sized basket, zip pockets inside the hood and an attractive pouch at the back of the seat unit.

Larger wheels

Larger wheels mean your buggy will be more stable on rough terrain - perfect for buggies that are off-road. They also make it easier to maneuver the pushchair in tight spaces. Many three wheeled buggies feature rotating front wheels that assist you in maneuvering around tight corners, whereas others are specifically designed for running and have fixed front wheels that lock to increase the speed and stability at which they can be driven. This is especially useful when you bump against a tree or a kerb. The front wheel can be lifted slightly to keep it from hitting it.

Many 3 wheel pushchairs feature air-filled tyres, which means they are able to handle different terrains and are much more flexible than four wheelers. They are also lighter. They are more prone to punctures, and you'll need to have repair kits and an spare inner tubes on hand.

Mountain Buggy Core, Venicci Carbo and Venicci Carbo Lux are some of our favourite 3-wheelers. Both of these buggies come with larger wheels that, according to MFM reviewer Kath, "perform really well on gravel tracks, grass and market town cobbles" and are able to effortlessly climb and descend kerbs. They also have a suspension system which, in her words "smoothes out bumps very effectively".

Buggies with bigger wheels can be quite wide and may struggle to fit in tight spaces. This could be a problem if you use it for jogging or have to squeeze through doorways that are narrow while on the move. Luckily, most models have small folding options that allow you to remove the front wheels for more compact storage.

Easy to manoeuvre

One of the primary benefits of a three-wheel buggy is that it's much more maneuverable particularly with a child on the way. The way in which they are built ensures that the front wheels turn at a whim and are really easy to manoeuvre which makes them perfect for difficult terrain like cobbles, parks, bumpy pavements and dirt tracks.

MFM reviewer Kath tested a 3 wheeler with her infant and toddler and stated: "The Terrain was a delight to maneuver on the terrain with the swivel rear wheel being particularly helpful. I was also impressed by the way it handled kerbs, especially when using the hand-operated brake. It was extremely stable when going downhill or on uneven terrain."

The only drawback to this great maneuverability, is that the larger wheels of the 3-wheel buggy may make it difficult to squeeze into tight spaces. This is something you should keep in mind when you live in one of the cities. If this is a problem, a 4-wheeled buggy may be the better choice for you.

Bumper bar

Bumper bars are a great method to shield your child from bumps and scrapes when out and out and about. They are quick and easy to put up and help your child feel secure and safe when out in the city or taking on tough terrain.

This bumper bar is designed to complement the sleek lines of the sleek lines of your Slim Twin stroller. It has a soft, cushioned surface to provide an ideal place for your child to grab onto during walks. The sturdy construction and durable design ensures that your child will enjoy strolling around town without having to worry about falling out of the buggy or leaning too far ahead.

The sling is stowed within the frame, not on top like the modular seat. This creates a lower center of gravity for your newborn at the right height and also offers great weight distribution, making it easier to pop over curbs (it is much easier to push the stroller up and over than you think). MFM reviewer Kath discovered that it was able to cope well with cobbles and grass and it's a good option for jogging due to its lockable swivel front wheel and air-filled tyres.

This bumper bar will turn heads wherever it is used. It has a sophisticated and fashionable design. Available in a variety of finishes and colors, it can be customized to match your style. The bumper bar can be removed and installed with the quick-release mechanism. The bumper bar is also easy to clean, as it is constructed from durable materials. This makes it a great choice for families who want an attractive and secure accessory for their stroller.

Comfort

A 3-wheel buggie offers the best in agility and performance when driving off-road. This type of buggy is easy to steer and turn on a dime with its perfect geometry, engineering, and weight distribution.

3 wheeler buggies puts the sling seat made of fabric inside the frame, rather than over it like modular seats. This allows it to have lower center of gravity which means it's more comfortable to push, has a lighter curb-pop (you won't need to put in the same effort to raise the buggy's front end over the curb) and also provides better balance and stability. With the 16" rear wheels, lockable front wheel, and air-filled tyres which allow for an easier, more comfortable jog.

As the only pushchair in our collection to come with a parent facing seat that can also take a car seat or carrycot to ensure the future of your family and take pleasure in every moment of your day and into the future - all within the footprint of one buggy!

And that's not the only reason to adore this buggy - our MFM reviewer Kath was impressed by how spacious it is, too. There's a huge, easily accessible basket that's quite spacious for a buggy of this size as well as a handy zipped pouch at the rear of the seat unit and even 2 smaller mesh pockets in the hood for your keys and phone.
