Why We Do We Love Cheap Single Pushchair (And You Should, Too!)
Cheap Single Pushchairs
The Babyzen Yoyo stroller is a good option if you are on a tight budget and don't need a stroller which can also be used as car seat carriers. It has a simple, one-step foot brake that's flip flop friendly.
It's also a breeze to push and feels solid when navigating kerbs or woodland pathways. It's also easy to fold.
1. Babyzen YOYO2
The Babyzen YOYO2 has built a reputation as the ultimate light-weight buggy for jet-setters and city dwellers alike, due to its nimble maneuverability and foldable design that can be tucked away in the overhead luggage of an aeroplane. The latest version has independent suspension on all four wheels comprised of Hytrel elastomer, which allows it to perfectly traverse all types and terrains'.
The bent fabric bassinet, the base YOYO2 and 6months of colour pack come together to create a sleek pushchair that has a soft elegant look. The frame's weight alone is just over a kilogram and is so light that you can easily lift it from the box (and do it with one hand).
It's also simple to add or remove adaptors or attachments - the hood, for instance, snaps on to the YOYO2 with reassuring clicks - as well as being machine washable to help deter staining from rice cakes that have been smashed and half-dissolved carrot puffs. It can be used as a pram right from birth using the Newborn Pack or bassinet, or converted into stroller at 6 months by clicking on the YOYO Connect additional chassis.
2. Evenflo Pivot Xplore
Evenflo Pivot Xplore stroller wagon is a great choice for parents who are looking for a versatile stroller. The Evenflo Xplore can be transformed from a stroller to a wagon by simply flipping the handle. Parents can then choose which mode is best for their adventure. The wagon can be used by one or two children from 6 months old to 5 years, and it comes with a spacious storage basket to accommodate all of your on-the-go needs.
The Xplore comes with two canopy options that are able to rotate from front to back, ensuring adequate sun protection for the entire family. It also has a footwell, which is not as deep or large as other wagons, so it might not be comfortable for long trips or napping.
The frame of the Xplore wagon feels solid and sturdy but it does not flex as much as other wagons that we test. It is also more difficult to fold than some of the competition, and it does not secure when folded. It is easy to move however, and can be able to fit through narrow 28-inch doors.
3. Delta Children LX Side-by-Side
This bare-bones double stroller from Delta Children is an excellent option for parents seeking a budget-friendly secondary travel stroller. It earned an eye-catching score in our Strollers & Multiples test for weight and size folded which means it's light, compact when folded and easy to lift into a car trunk or closet. It also has a reclined seat that can be reclined in several positions as well as an integrated cup holder for the parent. Other key features include two large hanging storage bags and 360-degree front wheels that are shock-absorbing.
In our push and turn test, it did better than most of the other strollers that we tried, but it's not the easiest to maneuver over uneven ground or through doorways that are narrow. The sunshades it has were among the smallest strollers we test. They only cover the top of the stroller and don't have windows that peek out. The UPPAbaby G-Link 2 and Zoe Twin+ have larger canopy sizes.
It took us under three minutes to put together the Delta using a standard manual. All of the components required tools. However, it is missing some essential features that we think you should not compromise on for a double stroller such as an extra-large basket and reclining seats with adjustable leg rests.
4. Maxi-Cosi Zelia 2-in-1
The Zelia is the latest model in Maxi-Cosi's range of pushchairs and is described as an urban travel system. It is suitable from birth until around 3.5-years-old. The seat and carrycot can be easily converted with only a few clicks. It is compatible with Maxi Cosi capsule car seats. It comes with a lightweight Mico 30 infant seat, a stay-in-car-base and a reversible car seat.
It's a breeze to manoeuvre and the one-hand reclining of the seat and the super large shopping basket make it simple for parent-tots to get the child in and out of the seat quickly. This compact pushchair can handle everyday bumps and doorways effortlessly.
The front wheels can be locked in an forward position or allow them to rotate which is helpful when traversing rough terrain. When we walked through the stony trail, we let them move and it did this quite well, though it did appear more bumpy than the other models on test.
5. Baby Jogger City Tour 2,
Baby Jogger is best known for its three-wheeled, all-terrain strollers that jog. However, they also produce a wide range of 4-wheeler pushchairs. The City Tour 2 is one of their most sought-after models. It is easy to use and folds down small enough to fit into a car boot even with the carrycot attached.
It weighs more than other strollers we've tested, but because it has composite wheels made of rubber it feels sturdy and well-constructed. It is able to maneuver effortlessly across all types of terrain and it's easy to move even with two children and shopping bags.
Both the seat and carrycot have hoods that can be removed to reveal a UV50+ sun canopy extension. They are sturdy and waterproof, in contrast to other prams hoods which can be blown back into toddlers' faces.
It doesn't have a lot of storage space, but it does have a large basket that's big enough to hold an infant's changing bag and plenty of food items. You can also use it with a Baby Jogger car seat for infants who weigh 20 pounds or less (car seat and adapters are sold separately). If you need a stroller that can be taken on the road, the City Tour 2 is an ideal choice.
6. Nuna Mixx Next
When the Nuna Mixx first came onto the scene, it stole the hearts of parents across the world. It's a frame made of aluminum that can see you through your baby's initial days and beyond. It has a number of stand-out features including the possibility of flipping the seat from parent to world-facing, a large UPF 50+ canopy that has an eye shade that flips out, a spacious basket and adjustable handlebar.
The chassis comes with an integrated suspension system which reduces the impact of bumpy terrain. The wheels are constructed from tough foam and minimise punctures. It was easy to push and our test driver was able to maneuver the vehicle through tight streets.
It folds automatically and locks in just four steps. It can also stand and be trolleyed for easier transport in the trunk of your car or down the stairs at home. It also comes equipped with the option to include a car seat or carrycot using the adaptors that come with it. The brakes have one action and are color coded. They also can be used with flip-flops.
7. Babyzen Duet
This budget single pushchair is surprisingly easy to maneuver and features an excellent dual suspension system, one-hand fold and a practical carry strap. It is also lightweight and robust. The seat can be reclined to many different positions. It also has a double-breathable mattress that's suitable for babies.
The canopy/seat comes with two big sun visors, which can be fixed or removed. Both are UPF50+. However the toggle closure isn't great - it's not as silent as Velcro and can wake sleepy babies.
The Duet is a angled stroller that can be used by twins or siblings. (Up to 22kg per seat). It is compatible with two infant car seat and some carrycots. In twin mode, the seats can face each other or turn around and face parents, theoretically decreasing sibling rivalries over who sits with dad and mom. It comes with a massive gear tray, bottle holder as well as snack trays and an adjustable mat. It also has a superior compact stand fold, and an automatic frame lock.
8. Baby Jogger Urban Glide 2.
The Thule Urban glide 2 is the ideal jogger for parents who love to be active. Single Pushchair sale of the lightest strollers that you can buy your child. It also comes with excellent safety features, like the 5-point safety harness and wrist safety strap. It also has a twist hand brake that's distinct from the lever-type that is found on other models.
The seat is padded and provides plenty of space to sit. However, the seat depth is less than that of other runners (it's just about 10 inches") The storage bin has an enclosed zipper to help keep items safe. It can hold 10 lbs., which is sufficient for the majority of diaper bags.
The Urban Glide 2 isn't compatible with bassinets or infant car seats as of yet, but you can use it from the beginning with the purchase of adapters for most seats by brands such as BOB, Graco, Combi, Evenflo, Britax, and UPPAbaby. It folds up compactly and takes between 5 and 10 minutes to assemble with no tools. The instruction manual is easy to understand and includes multiple languages.
