The fridge also has plenty of storage space to store your leftovers and groceries. The model comes with an ice maker that makes fresh, filtered ice on the spot. It's also user-friendly. It's fingerprint-resistant, too. If you're worried about smudges consider a cleaning solution that eliminates fingerprints without harsh chemicals.

LG Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

LG counter-depth refrigerators pack a lot of storage in small footprints. They're also priced more affordably than standard-depth French door refrigerators and remove the need for a separate smaller under-counter freezer. The LG Smart Mirror InstaView counter-depth refrigerator (LMWC23626S) is no exception and offers the capacity of a standard fridge in a sleek, modern design that has an internal dispenser for easy access to filtered water.

This model's exterior showcases a fingerprint-resistant stainless steel finish and a mirrored InstaView panel that adds to the modern look of the interior. The door bins are roomy and the top shelf can be folded down to create half-depth shelves that allow higher-height items to fit. A set of crisper drawers is located in the bottom of the refrigerator and the full-width deli drawer can be used for meat or produce.

The refrigerator has a recessed freezer on the back wall. This saves space and lets you store more ice bags. The refrigerator has door cooling that uses vents on the door of the fridge and freezer to let cold air into. It prevents hot spots and maintains a more consistent temperature throughout the refrigerator.

This LG refrigerator stands out in our tests and has plenty of capacity to ensure that your family is well-fed, but it does have a few issues that we found annoying. First the freezer drawers do not stay as cold as we would like. The temperature of the middle drawer reached 41° during our maximum use test, which is the temperature needed to freeze ice cream and other frozen foods. The temperature in the rest of your freezer remained at around 36 degrees.

The refrigerator doors also have handles that are sunken and are difficult for people with shorter arms to close. This may seem minor, but we prefer front-mounted handles on fridges so they're simpler to open and close.

The fridge is costly but it's worth it for those who want an elegant look for their kitchen. This refrigerator is recommended for those looking to upgrade their current fridge or are building new homes and want to have a seamless look in the kitchen.

Samsung Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

The RF23M8090SG is Samsung's newest and most stylish counter-depth French door refrigerator that retails at $4,200. It's a good-looking model that boasts useful features like an autofill water pitcher and a temperature-adjustable "FlexZone" drawer. It also does well in our cooling tests, although we're not a fan of its gimmicky polygon handles and the bins with a crisper design are a bit flimsy.

Bespoke is one of the features that makes the RF23M8090SG stand out. It allows you to personalize your refrigerator using removable colored panels. There are 11 colors with pastels through more vibrant shades. There are also four metallic finishes. Some of these panels can be personalized with photos or text which makes the fridge a personal touch point that can match your tie-dye Crocs, Rick Owens dress or Andy Warhol banana neon sign.

You can even change the color of the fridge's LED lighting, which is pretty. The interior of the refrigerator has a smart finish which reduces the chance of smudges, and also makes cleaning easier. The only real drawbacks of the RF23M8090SG are its crowded beverage center, and a little learning curve to open the door-indoor feature, which houses a water dispenser and an ice maker. You need to feel for the lever located on the underside of the door about halfway down. When you locate it the second door opens up within the fridge, containing the pitcher docking station and the water dispenser.

The 6.8 cubic-foot freezer compartment is big enough to hold a lot of frozen food items, and it features an impressive slide-out drawer that allows you to access the food you're looking for without opening the entire compartment. The freezer also features a butter-bin style compartment to store small items and a large capacity drawer for storage to store larger quantities of frozen food. The drawer can be locked using a password to keep intruders out, and it includes an LED light that is handy so you can see the contents at glance. The freezer is also able to monitor energy consumption and help you cut your energy bill by using the smart-enabled SmartThings Energy mode.

Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

French door refrigerators are a wonderful addition to any kitchen. They look neat and are suitable for any size of room. Counter-depth refrigerators are the best option if you're looking for this look, but without the height. We've tested a lot of them, and this particular Frigidaire model has earned an above-average score in our ratings due to its reasonable price and thoughtful features, such as an adjustable temperature drawer.

However, it also has a few nagging issues. Our test data shows the FGHB2866PF can get very hot significantly in the freezer and get uncomfortably hot in the innermost shelves of the fridge. Our heat maps show how temperature fluctuates minute-by-minute. The butter bin in the orange region at the top right is especially warm during our test period. This might not seem too bad at first, but it means the fridge is spending a significant portion of its time above 33 degrees.

It's worth noting that this model isn't Energy Star certified, which could be important for some buyers. The main issue is that the fridge isn't a great choice. It's lacking advanced features and durable construction which makes it difficult to recommend it over more expensive options at this price point.

In many ways, the Frigidaire feels like the stainless-steel model of fridge you might see in your local appliance store. It's a safe option with a smooth finish that looks great and is resistant to smudges, but it doesn't do much to distinguish itself from competitors that are more feature-rich and more affordable.

However, if you're looking for a cheap counter-depth French door refrigerator but do not have the money to splash out on our top choices for you, then the FGHC2331PF is worth a look. It's got enough storage to meet the needs of many families and does an excellent job keeping food fresh. Even if it's not an energy-efficient model, it doesn't have the same price tag the same amount as our top-rated models do.
