Think You're Ready To Start Doing Twilight Princess? Answer This Question
Twilight Princess Game Review

The most sombre and dark of the Nintendo 3D Zelda games, Twilight Princess pushes the limits of graphics to the limit on the Wii's hardware. It's more unnerving and murky than The Wind Waker, with a lack of bug-eyed pig guards or effeminate pirates.

Link is pulled into a parallel dimension known as Twilight Realm, where he assumes the form of a Hylian and a wolf, while being guided by Midna.

Gameplay

Twilight Princess is the thirteenth installment in The Legend of Zelda series. It was released in 2006 for the Nintendo GameCube system and Wii. The game was praised by critics, giving it excellent scores in a variety of publications, including 1UP CVG EGM and GamesRadar. It is considered by many as the best in the entire series, and was the top-selling Zelda game on the PAL market.

Twilight Princess features naturalistic, stylized style of graphics that is similar to Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask and Ocarina of Time, but with a more sophisticated graphics engine. It is the first game in the series with the full directional control scheme, rather than a fixed viewpoint like previous games. This change was made to accommodate the Wii console's point-based interface. The GameCube version features a section at the back of the game, with mirror-image maps for those who prefer a fixed view.

Link transforms into a wolf when he enters the Twilight Realm. He also encounters Midna, a mysterious creature. She reveals to Link that the kingdom of Hyrule is now under the control of a group shadow beasts, led by the evil sorcerer Zant. She also explains that she is the true ruler of Twili, but was usurped and cursed to her current form by Zant.

When Link and Midna arrive at Hyrule Castle, a short cut scene shows the soldiers there being killed by the shadow beasts. Link and Midna then escape the castle through an entrance tunnel to enter the Twilight Realm.

Link can move more freely in the Twilight Realm by using his wolf form. He can also make use of his senses to navigate around the world. For example, he can detect the spirits of deceased soldiers and other animals in the distance. He can also whistle and pull grass from certain patches to summon an animal like the Hawk, Epona or other. Or, Link can howl near these patches to summon the same animal.

Like previous Zelda games music plays a major part in Twilight Princess. Link can play a musical instrument like the harp or flute to draw and summon animals. Link can also use his voice to command the wolf's appearance. Additionally, he could use his compasses to guide him through the world and avoid getting lost.

Characters

The Legend of Zelda is full of unique and colorful characters that leave an unforgettable impression. These unique and imaginative characters that emerge from toilets to pirates sailing across vast oceans are the heart of the game. Twilight Princess continues the tradition of previous games by introducing a variety of memorable characters.

Link is introduced to new NPCs throughout the story who are not just interesting, but also plausible. It's a huge leap forward that a lot of these NPCs don't exist solely as victims they actually play a role in the story. NPCs such as Rusl who explains how the forest is becoming more dangerous and kidnaps children, or the Ordon villagers who appear as wolves when children are kidnapped each has a distinct personality that seem genuine.

Other notable characters are Iza who manages the Boat Rental Cabin in Lanayru Province and Iza's rapid ride, Louise Telma’s cat, who assists Wolf Link find a secret passageway into the castle through her bar, sewer system, and Faron whose spirit helps guide Link to the Forest Temple in Eldin Province. The two team members defeat Diababa's Fused Shadow and obtains the first Tear of Light.

Midna is the princess of the Twilight Realm and one of the most captivating characters in the game. She is a part of the Triforce of Wisdom and can switch between her human and her wolf-like impish form. She befriends Link and tells him about her experience in the twilight, and how she defeated Zant, the King of Twilight.

Zant is the evil sorcerer who controls the Twilight Realm. He possesses the second half of the Triforce of Wisdom. He was banished to the Twilight Realm by the goddesses for stealing their land and enslaving people. Midna can dispel Zant's power allowing him to change into his human form when required.

demo slot twilight princess includes an upgraded horse, called Epona, which is ridden in Hylian and wolf versions. Link can whistle at certain areas of grass to call the animal (similar to Majora's Mask). Twilight Princess is the first game in the series where the player can name their horse.

Theme

Music is one of the most important elements of any Zelda game and can make the world feel huge exciting, epic, and thrilling. However, Twilight Princess is criticized for its inconsistent and unreliable soundtrack that doesn't convey the emotional impact of certain moments. Contrarily, Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask have enthralling compositions that explode at precisely the right time to create a feeling of grandeur and eeriness.

Twilight Princess was composed by Asuka Ohta and Toru Minegishi. Koji Kondo, the composer of the series' first time since Wind Waker, was in charge of overseeing the composers. The soundtrack for Twilight Princess is a bold departure from the usual approach to the series, with an approach that is minimalist in terms of music and arrangement. The majority of themes for dungeons and fields start with a single instrument, creating an eerie and mysterious atmosphere for the player. For instance, the eerie music of Midna's lament makes use of an ordinary piano to create an overwhelming feeling of sadness for the player.

The themes of dungeons are the most well-known examples of this trend towards minimalism, with many themes featuring a dull and ominous atmosphere. This is most evident in Twilight Realm, which has an unsettling soundscape that could be found in an original David Lynch movie. The absence of melody and the conventional arrangement of this track accentuates its ominous, spooky nature. Drones and odd patterns collide to create a dark, eerie texture.

A more upbeat and joyful song is Link's hometown theme, "Faron Woods." This tune uses a variety of soft sounds and stringed instruments that create an idyllic sense of peace and safety for the player. The song is an ode to the most well-known scene from the franchise, because it has a riff that is similar to the famous melody that plays at the Ocarina of Time's start.

Twilight Princess also has dynamic songs that change depending on the player's whereabouts, what they are doing and what's happening. For example the Hyrule Castle Town theme has distinct versions for each area of the town and Central Square being the most popular. Central Square having a more boisterous and full version of the tune. These variations add a nice flavor to the world of Hyrule, adding a sense depth and immersion.

Story

The story of Twilight Princess revolves around Link trying to stop Hyrule from being engulfed by the corrupted parallel dimension referred to as the Twilight Realm. To do this, he takes the form of a Hylian and an Wolf as well as being assisted by a woman called Midna.

Midna is the original ruler of the Twili however she was supplanted by Zant and cursed to her imp form. Link and Midna are informed by the Sages of the Old Testament that only defeating Ganondorf will be in a position to release them from their curse. The Sages then reveal that the Mirror of Twilight is the source of the darkness in the Twilight Realm. Midna and Link journey to the Spirit's Spring where they encounter predatory creatures that kidnap children. Wolf Link's keen nose assists them in tracking children's scent to a bridge nearby that they cross over into the Twilight Realm.

They enter the Forest Temple, battle Diababa and obtain the first Fused Shadow. After this, Faron informs them that the next stop is Eldin Province to the west (Wii) or east (GCN).

Midna, at the Lakebed Temple of Lanayru teleports Link onto a fiery stone and unleashes her power on the ice below Lake Hylia. Rutela's spirit, the recently deceased Zora queen appears to Link and tells Link that he must visit the Lakebed Temple if he wants to unlock the treasure of the Zora.

Twilight Princess allows you to ride Epona the horse from Ocarina of Time or Majora's Mask. In contrast to the set name used in the two previous games, Link can now decide the name of the horse himself.

After arriving in the Twilight Realm, Midna and Link are able to retrieve the remaining Mirror Shards. At the Palace of Twilight, the Sages declare that Midna is actually the true ruler of the Twili and Hyrule kingdoms, but she has been ostracized by the monarchy and turned to a god for power. The Sages inform them that they will defeat Ganondorf by bringing Ganondorf to the light and break the pact between the Twilight kingdom and Hyrule kingdom.
