Easy to install

Fiat 500 key covers are an simple way to update your car keys. They are available in a range of styles and colors, making it possible to find the perfect fit for your style. They can be installed by yourself within ten minutes. You'll need an electric screwdriver and a bit of patience. The first step is to remove the previous cover from your key. The original cover must be removed before the new one cover can be fitted.

Once you have removed the old cover, use a flathead screwdriver in order to pry out the four major attachment clips located on the passenger side of the fob assembly. These are marked in red on the picture below. Also note the tabs that locate slots that are highlighted in yellow. They require disengagement as well.

After removing fiat key replace it with a brand new # CR2032 3 volt coin cell battery. The "+" side of the battery should face the opening on the fob and the "-" side should face the buttons made of rubber.

Re-attach the passenger side mirror cover by aligning the tabs that locate it. Once you've completed this take the fob for the driver's side back into your vehicle and test it. Press the push button located at the top of the key. If everything works as it should your car should start to turn on the parking lights, and the doors will automatically lock.

The BCM will then be able to read the transponder on the key fob, and verify that it's legitimate.
