A short cutscene shows the soldiers being killed by the shadow beasts when Link and Midna arrive at Hyrule Castle. Then, Link and Midna escape from the castle by an escape tunnel and enter the Twilight Realm.

Link can move more freely around the world in the Twilight Realm by using his wolf form. Additionally, he can use his senses to navigate the world. For example, he can detect the spirits of deceased soldiers and other animals that are in the distance. He can also pick grass from certain patches and whistle using it to summon an animal, for instance a Hawk or Epona. Alternately, Link can howl near these patches to summon the same animal.

Twilight Princess is no different from earlier Zelda titles in that music plays an important role. Link can use instruments like the harp or flute to draw and summon animals. Link can also command the wolf's form by speaking. He can also use his compass as a way to help him navigate the world.

Characters

The Legend of Zelda series is full of vibrant characters that leave an unforgettable impression on players. These quirky and unique characters such as hands emerging from the toilets to pirates sailing across vast oceans are the heart of the game. Twilight Princess continues the tradition of previous games by introducing a wide range of memorable characters.

Link is introduced to new NPCs throughout the story who are not only interesting but also credible. It's a big step forward that so many of these NPCs aren't just victims, but actually are a part of the story. NPCs like Rusl who declares that the forest is becoming more dangerous and kidnaps children, or the Ordon villager who disguises himself as a wolf to hide his identity when the kidnappers are taking children each has their own unique personality.

Other notable characters include Iza who manages the Boat Rental Cabin in Lanayru Province and Iza's rapid ride, Louise Telma’s cat, who aids Wolf Link find a secret passageway into the castle through her bar and sewer system, as well as Faron who's spirit helps guide Link to the Forest Temple in Eldin Province. The duo defeats the Fused Shadow possessed by Diababa and receives the first Tear of Light.

Midna is the princess of the Twilight Realm and one of the most captivating characters in the game. She is able to switch between her wolf and human forms and possesses a piece of the Triforce of Wisdom. She befriends Link and shares with him her experiences in the twilight and how she defeated Zant the king of Twilight.

Zant is the evil sorcerer that rules the Twilight Realm. He possesses the second part of the Triforce of Wisdom. The goddesses banished him to Twilight Realm for enslaving their people and taking over their territory. Midna removes Zant's power, permitting him to transform into his human form when needed.

The game also has an improved horse called Epona that can be riding in Hylian and wolf versions. Link can whistle near certain areas of grass to call the animal (similar to Majora's Mask). Twilight Princess is the first game in the series where the player can identify their horse.

Theme

Music is an important part of any Zelda title. It can make a game appear epic as well as expansive and thrilling. Story

Link's mission in Twilight Princess is to save Hyrule from the corrupted parallel universe known as the Twilight Realm. To do this, he takes the form of a Hylian and a Wolf and is being helped by a woman named Midna.

Midna is the first ruler of the Twili However, she was supplanted by Zant and cursed into her imp form. Link and Midna are told by the Ancient Sages that only by defeating Ganondorf will be capable of releasing them from their curse. The Sages then reveal that the Mirror of Twilight is the source of the darkness in the Twilight Realm. Midna and Link journey to the Spirit's Spring where they encounter predatory creatures that kidnap children. Wolf Link's keen nose assists them in tracking children's scent to a bridge nearby and then cross into the Twilight Realm.

They enter the Forest Temple and battle Diababa and win the first Fused Shadow. Following this, Faron informs them that the next stop is the Eldin Province to the west (Wii) or east (GCN).

At the Lakebed Temple in Lanayru, Midna teleports Link to the fiery rock and uses her powers to melt the ice that lies at the bottom of Lake Hylia. The spirit of the recently deceased Zora Queen, Rutela, then appears and tells Link that he has to visit the Lakebed Temple in order to gain access to a treasure from the Zora.

Twilight Princess allows you to ride Epona the horse from Ocarina of Time or Majora's Mask. Link can select the name of the horse, unlike the predetermined names used in previous games.

Midna and Link can retrieve the remaining Mirror Shards once they arrive in the Twilight Realm. In the Palace of Twilight, the Sages declare that Midna is actually the real ruler of the Twili however she had been passed over for the monarchy and was turned into the gods to gain power. The Sages tell them that they will only be defeated by Ganondorf by bringing Ganondorf to the light and break the pact between the Twilight kingdom and the Hyrule kingdom.
