It's easier to use than previous models and has features like BoostIQ which automatically boosts suction to ensure better cleaning of all surfaces. It also uses intelligent navigation to avoid repeating the same area over and over, which is a common issue when using bounce-navigation systems.

It is effective in picking up pet hair, crumbs, and dust on hard floors, but falls behind the best models in terms of getting rid of dust from carpet. In our tests the G30 Edge missed 74% of the flour on hard floors and 26 percent on carpets which is a bit disappointing.

One feature that makes the G30 Edge stand out is its ability to map your home's layout using a digital map within the app. This lets it remember which rooms it has already cleaned and avoid going back to the same rooms. This is a major problem for robots that are more basic and require the use old-fashioned magnetic tap to delineate areas that are not allowed to be in.

The G30 Edge also has other features. It has an "Find My Robot" mode that emits loud music until it is located, and a directional keypad that lets you move the robot. It also has an automatic return feature that will send the robot back to its charging station when the battery is at a low level. This is a safety feature.

2. Neato Botvac D-Shape

The Neato Botvac D-Shape an extremely capable robot that comes with an impressive list of intelligent features. It can clean floors efficiently and climb up high-pile carpets with ease. The app also offers advanced features, such as boundary lines remote control access while the robot is working and a range of other options.

This model is the newest in a long line of robots from Neato and is distinguished by its unique "D" shape when seen from above. This design offers several advantages, including better corner cleaning and a larger bin of dust than most other models. The D-shape also allows the robot to access furniture better than robots with a circular design.

When first starting a cleaning process, the D-Shape will pause briefly to make use of infrared lasers that spin to look over and evaluate the area. Then, it will work in a grid, gradually moving from one area to the next until the entire floor is covered. This method of cleaning is more efficient and thorough than the random approach taken by other companies.

The d-shape design allows the D-Shape to have a larger dust bin that is 700ml, compared to 400- 600ml for similarly priced robots. This increased capacity means that you will have to empty the bin less often, saving your time and effort. The D-Shape also has a flat front side that can help it navigate around obstacles like chairs and tables. In our tests the D-Shape was stuck under a four-legged stool and an electrical cord that was exposed, though it was able to get out each time.

3. Roomba I3+ EV

The Roomba EVO i3+ is an excellent option for pet owners. It is a great choice for hard floors, and it does an excellent job of removing debris like pet hair, cereal, rice and other small particles. It has some issues on carpet but is still better than the majority of robots in this price range. The Roomba i3+ EVO is also extremely efficient in navigating between different flooring types and doesn't get caught on transitions like older generations can. The dual multi-surface brushes flex and adapt to different flooring types. They also have a tendency to not tangle pet hair.

The i3+ EVO's obstacle avoidance isn't as strong as the other robots we tested and it repeatedly ran into objects in our tests such as handbags shoes and pet toys prior to continuing on its path. It also had trouble dealing with coarse sea salt that it did a whirlwind of instead of picking up.

The i3+ EVO comes with a variety of amazing features that make it worth the extra cost over other Roomba models, including a self-emptying dustbin and advanced control via the app. It is possible to schedule cleaning and create custom routines. You can also create zones that prohibit the robot from entering certain areas. Its smart scheduling can even suggest additional cleanings during peak allergy times and in accordance with your routine. The system for navigation is not reliable and often vacuums in irregular patterns like zigzags or diagonals instead of parallel to walls.

4. Shark AI Self-Empty, XL


This intelligent robot is able to visualize your home's interior, better than you. It comes with dual brushes that adjust to different types of floors and avoid getting caught in a tangle. The dock, dubbed Omni, automates tasks such as refilling and cleaning robot's water tanks, emptying debris bins, charging and drying the mop pads.

It's a great price. The Shark AI Self-Empty XL is less expensive than many other robots on our list however it comes with advanced features such as mapping and an automatic self-emptying dustbin which holds a decent amount of dust. We tested it in a house with a mix of bare floors and low-pile carpeting and found it to maneuver and clean extremely well, even getting into corners. The vacuum also does a decent job of picking up pet hair on carpeting but it's not equipped with the same amount of power as our top choices.

The Roborock S4 Max, however, is more durable, recharges quicker than the Shark and comes with a wider selection of automation options and scheduling options, including support for "no-go zones". We'd still recommend the Shark when you're looking to buy something cheaper, or should you prefer to use your mobile phone to monitor and control your device instead of a dedicated remote.

5. Bissell SpinWave Dry & Wet

It's not easy to find a robot that can combine mopping and vacuuming This one does just that. The two-tank system used by this robot lets it mop or vacuum with the touch of the button. It easily transitioned between surfaces in our tests and excelled at cleaning pet hair from both hardwood floors and carpets. It also features an edge-sweeping tool to remove cat hair from baseboards and walls, and the ability to schedule it to your schedule.

This robot is a good option if you're looking for a robot that is affordable and has some extra features. It maneuvered obstacles well during our tests and can be controlled by an app or your voice. It comes with a large trash bin for the collection of messes before they are full. It can take it up to 166 minutes to finish its job, but this is still more efficient than other robots we have tested.

The most impressive feature of this robot is its front-facing camera, which lets you monitor your home's cleanliness using a live map in the app. This is especially useful when you're trying to locate a specific item, or if your kids have spilled glitter from your holiday decor all over your floor. It can save you a lot frustration by finding that lost item right away. Plus robotvacuummops is not fade-proof and can run for up to 130 minutes on one charge.

Despite the limited features of the 694, it still performs better than the majority of its competitors. It scored a perfect 10 in our cereal carpet test and passed our cat litter test with just a few stray pieces. It's not as efficient on hardwood floors. The side brush scatters large cereal bits that cling to the floor instead of vacuuming. It also had trouble collecting table salt on a floor that was not paved, as a lot of grains fell across the floor.

It can be controlled through the iRobot HOME app and voice commands via Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant (via an external device, purchased separately). It learns your habits of cleaning and gives you a customized schedule. Cliff Detect and an edge-sweeping brush ensure it gets into difficult-to-access corners. Dirt Detect sensors alert it to areas that are heavily soiled. Its battery lasts about 60 minutes, and it comes with a self-emptying dustbin. The pricier iRobot j7 is more advanced and better on all surfaces. It's also more robust, has a larger dustbin, can charge faster and is able to navigate obstacles like electrical cords more efficiently.
