Description
I bought this Jeep about two years ago in Yoakum, TX. Before that, it was last registered in 1976. The frame, floors, under the fuel tank, tool box, bed, and hat channels are original and nice. Some time ago, it was repainted and had body work, mostly over dents and some rust below the rear taillight area. The engine starts easily and idles and runs great with no smoke at startup or while running. I have the clear Texas title in my name that matches the body VIN tag. While I’ve owned it, here is a list of new parts and work completed:
• Rebuilt the carburetor, added a new battery, oil change, and tune up
• Bought a new fuel tank and sending unit.
• New wiring, lights, ignition switch, and horn. All park, headlights (hi and low beam), tail lights, brake lights, and gauge lamp work.
• Replaced non-working gauges. They all work correctly now.
• Rebuilt the brakes from the master cylinder to all four wheels and parking brake/cable.
• Located and added the rear tow bar.
• Located 16” wheels. Blasted, painted, and added new BF Goodrich tires.
• Resealed all leaks on the L134 engine.
• Located and added a rear seat.
• Rebuilt the front and rear axles replacing seals, bearings, U-joints, and other worn parts.
• Pulled and fully rebuilt the transmission and transfer case. Replaced the clutch.
• Added a new exhaust system
This is a very solid and mechanically sound Jeep. It’s fun to ride as it is or would be a good candidate for a full restoration.
I also have a running F-head 4-cylinder engine that I’d be willing to sell for an additional cost, if interested.
I can assist with shipping or personal delivery for an additional cost, depending on your location.
