Selling my 1947 Willys CJ-2A. This is not a numbers matching museum piece. It’s an old-school modified homesteader Jeep that has been built to be driven, enjoyed, and get attention wherever it goes. Runs/idles great.

The Jeep retains the classic CJ-2A look but has had a number of practical modifications over the years.

Drivetrain & Mechanical

1970s Chevrolet Nova inline 4-cylinder engine swap
Manual transmission
Locking hubs on all 4 wheels
Saturn overdrive
Alternator conversion
Swapped windshield for the single glass pane style
Custom welded cargo carrier
CB radio – working.
Upgraded radiator/electric cooling fan setup
Manual fan switch allows the electric fan to be run continuously when desired
Leaf-spring suspension with added shock absorbers
– Rides just as good as my ’08 Jeep
Steering is reasonably tight for an old CJ
6.00-16 military-style NDT tires

This Jeep has a great military-inspired/vintage appearance and very fun to tinker around on back roads, around town, at shows, or running around the property. I’ve used it to retrieve deer. The Saturn overdrive is particularly nice because it gives the old Jeep a little more flexibility than a stock CJ-2A drivetrain.

The Jeep is approximately 79 years old and has been modified by previous owners over its lifetime. It’s best suited for someone who appreciates vintage Jeeps and wants a really cool driver/project rather than someone looking for a factory-correct restoration. I’ve put it in the memorial parade, and it turns heads – and also just driven it around town for the fun of it. I like to wear the old WWII helmet and smoke a swisher sweet while I drive around, and really turn heads.

It has tons of character and, in my opinion, the modifications are part of what makes it fun.
