1943 Willys MB originally delivered to the U.S Navy in Hawaii. For a time it pulled a tourist tram in Hawaii, explaining the canopy frame, which can be unbolted. Interestingly, this body tub was crafted from galvanized aluminum. The hood is original but has rust holes. This vehicle would not be the easiest to make a “military correct” restoration out of due to numerous modifications. Included, I do have 4 original combat rims, and some military spare parts; lights and switches and small what nots as well as manuals.
This jeep moved under its own power 12 years ago with a remote gas tank when I parked it, and I’ve turned the motor over with oil in the cylinders a few times since then. It’s not frozen and the gear boxes seem to work well. I believe the engine will run without too much effort or expense, but it’s obviously not road worthy at this point and obviously should be gone through thoroughly before operating. It’s rusty. Basics would include some fuel line, a battery, seats, gas tank, fluid changes and brakes fixed just to go and stop, but in reality, even as a farm vehicle it needs at least new shocks and one rim due to a rusty stem hole.
This could make a passable military jeep for an enthusiast, a great rolling parts stash or dare I say it…a hunting/farm vehicle. Let’s discuss…motivated.
