1953 Willys M38A1 in very good condition. The original body and F4 Hurricane engine are in clean condition. There is no rust. It is complete except the snorkel and windshield (it’s there, but cracked). This Willys was designed to ford rivers and lakes up to 79″ deep. It run and drives well. The headlights and dash lights work, tail lights don’t. The dash has working blackout lights.
This is the military version, not the civilian CJ. The military version has a stronger frame and more durable driveline. Delivery Date to the Marines was 9/53. Two blackout fender lights, Jerry gas can and service manual are included. Tires are 2 years old although they have very few miles on them. Both batteries are new (it’s a 24 volt system). The original brass plates are intact. Mileage is relatively low. It show 01,863, although the speedo might have been replaced. Compression is good; 112, 115, 120, 122. It spent ~50 years in Montana at elevation and not driven on public roads, so it’s never seen salt. Always been in a garage. The bikini top and diamond plate body wrap give it additional cool factor.
