FOR SALE: 1953 Willys 4X4 Pickup Truck
It is a genuine 1953 Willys 4X4 pick up with a Chevy V8 small block conversion engine, Chevy 3 speed automatic transmission and a Chevy transfer case. Both axles have been swapped with Wagoneer axles to handle the increased power and torque. Also put in new front and rear drive shafts. A new throttle kick-down cable has also been installed for ease of shifting through each gear. You’ll also see a new single exhaust with dual outlets. A tilt steering column was put in with a new steering wheel. Shocks and springs are new and the shocks are Rancho 4000’s. It has all new front disc brakes and new rear drum brakes, new master cylinder, brake booster and all new brake lines. All 4 wheels and tires have less than 100 miles on them. Tires are 33 x 12.50 x 15. All new wiring, fuse box, speedometer cable and gauges. Installed a new fuel tank (20-25 gallons) as the previous one held only 10 gallons. Installed new window glass all the way around from a local reputable glass shop. New black colored carpet, door panels, and seat upholstery. A new B and M floor shifter and a new starter has been recently installed as well. As a side note, the previous owner had shortened/modified the bed (to make it a short bed pickup) of the truck. There is minimal, if any, rust on the body and even the floors are in great condition.
What it needs: Just your personal touches to make it the way you want it to be (i.e. lap belts, clip on side mirrors, truck stakes, sun visor, different paint color, etc.). This truck is a “cruiser” and not a “show truck’, but has had substantial thousands of dollars in necessary maintenance and modifications to make it a good running, reliable vehicle. All the expensive modifications have been done as well.
Please realize this is a “65-year old cruiser truck” that does not have the sophisticated modern technology like our vehicles today to drive at extensive and ridiculous speed, especially with the high center gravity, the shorter wheel base, and the large tires. If you are in the market for a “fun cruiser truck”, then this gorgeous looking truck is definitely for you.
I may be forgetting some parts and other mechanical work (my primary focus) that was done to it. It’s been a lot of work and a lot of fun to give this “old truck” a new life, but I have a new job that is taking all my time now and I don’t seem to ever have enough time to truly enjoy my Willys. Because of that, I am wanting to sell my mechanically sound and super cool Willys to someone who can enjoy the truck as it should be enjoyed.
Due to my work schedule, please send your inquiries and contact information through the email option within the ad. I will respond to your email as soon as I can as time permits. Thank you for your understanding.
Happy Good-Willy Hunting!!
